Although readily available in different outlets and legally sold, excessive drinking can cause social, psychological and physical health problems. This presentation outlined what the guidelines suggest for those who chose to drink in moderation (14 unis per week) and situations where alcohol should be avoided completely (pregnancy, taking certain medications and certain health conditions such as cancers and uncontrolled diabetes). Services available were also discussed for those who want to reduce or stop completely. On the topic of Gang Culture the different terminologies used by gangs were discussed. Signs for parents to look for when children engage in gang activities were also discussed. Finally, the supports available for young people and parents were also discussed. Questions and answers session clarified areas of concern among participants. Overall, the session was well received and many areas of concern were answered.
